DescriptionPurified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes glutathione S-transferase
BackgroundGlutathione S-transferase (GST) is commonly used as an epitope tag in generating fusion proteins. In these systems a ~26 kDa GST domain isolated from S. japonicum is cloned in-frame to the gene encoding the protein of interest in the appropriate expression vector system. The resulting fusion protein can then be expressed by either E. coli (pGEX expression vector system) or by yeast (pYEX™ expression vector system) in a soluble form. The resulting fusion proteins may then be further purified by immunoprecipitation or affinity chromatography with GST (Ab-1) or directly analyzed by western blotting with the antibody.
