A diterpene diepoxide compound, which demonstrates high selectivity for the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway and shows anti-tumor properties in certain human cancer cell lines at a concentration of ~12 µM. HJB suppresses IL-6-induced STAT-3 transcription activity (IC50= ˜ 3.34 µM) in HepG2 cells and inhibits IL-6-induced and constitutive STAT-3 tyrosine phosphorylation at a concentration of 10 µM in a select few human cancer cell lines. In HEK 293 culture, HJB hinders JAK kinase activity (IC50 <10 µM) and induces JAK dimerization via cross-linking at a concentration of 20 µM.
