      Alternate Names
      • DOCK8
      • Dedicator of cytokinesis protein 8
Background InformationDedicator of cytokinesis protein 8 (also known as 1200017A24Rik or Epididymis luminal protein 205) is encoded by the DOCK8 gene (also known as HEL-205, MRD2, ZIR8) in human (NCBI Gene ID 81704). DOCK8 is a cytosolic scaffolding protein involved in cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell migration. DOCK8 deficiency due to genetic mutations result in combined immune deficiency, historically diagnosed as an atypical form of hyper-IgE syndrome (HIES) or autosomal recessive HIES, which remains to be the focus of ongoing DOCK8 research activities. (PMIDn20864884). Clone 10C3.2 detects an internal epitope within the C-terminal half of the DOCK8 protein (UniProt Q8NF50).
